Stripe Integration Series: Payments, Part 2

Are you looking to integrate a payment platform for your business? If you're looking to accept payments online, there are plenty of options available. However, not every option is right for every business. Stripe is a popular online payment service that offers a simple way to accept credit card payments through your website or app. It is one of the easiest ways to accept payments online and best of all, our PK team can assist with the integration.

Payment Links

Sell anywhere with just a link and no website needed. Stripe Payment Links gives you the power to reach any customer without the need for a website. First, you create a link which can be used to sell a product or service, for subscriptions, or collecting donations (and you still have the ability to match the payment form to your brand). Second, you can share the link by pasting or embedding it anywhere and it can be used across channels, by multiple customers. Then, you should receive a notification via your Dashboard or email to confirm a successful payment and deposit the funds into your bank account.

In our opinion, Payment Links may be one of the most convenient Stripe products. This option allows you to accept payments with not one line of code. And it can be extremely beneficial for new or small businesses that don’t have a website up and running just yet. Using an API, you can create payment links for a variety of uses such as automated marketing campaigns, streamlining sales operations, or facilitating payment collection.

Terminal

Stripe Terminal is your in-person checkout solution. While Stripe is known for its online Payment Platform, this product allows you to have both online and in-person solutions for your business needs. This product is intended to provide a unified solution for online and offline channels. It involves developer tools, pre-certified card readers, and cloud-based hardware management.

Using Terminal allows you to manage all sales, whether online or in-person, in one place using one integration. This simplifies reporting, reconciliation, and analyzing with a unified customer view. Using Stripe’s SDKs for the integration, you can provide your customers a seamless experience across different channels, offering abilities like reserving online and picking up in store.

You have the ability to use Stripe Terminal with Connect to onboard customers for online and in-person payments, unifying their payouts. Stripe will also provide centralized fleet management tools to easily manage in-person payments logistics such as ordering new hardware, monitoring the device status, and configuring readers remotely.

Connect

The easiest and quickest way to integrate payments into your software platform or marketplace. By integrating Connect, you avoid the upfront costs and development time typically needed for payment facilitation. Along with the other Stripe products, Connect accepts over 135 currencies and a large variety of payment methods to best serve your customers. With Connect also comes its global routing and payout engine, allowing you to split funds between customers, instantly route payments, and specify your earnings for each transaction.

By avoiding the usual upfront costs and development time, Connect allows you to launch faster. Whether you’re using your own custom flows or Connect’s pre-built UIs, you can onboard customers in minutes. Stripe takes care of the KYC (Know Your Customer) requirements for payments and helps ensure you meet other requirements for payments compliance.

Another big benefit of this integration is the global routing and payout engine mentioned earlier; this feature gives you more control over how funds flow, allows you to pay out customers quickly, and decreases operational overhead. And to make this integration even better, you can easily manage your platform with Stripe’s help to keep records of all transactions so you can track and reconcile payments.

How can PK help?

Integrating any of these products will involve using APIs. To add Payment Links to your platform, you will need to use Stripe’s API with Connect to build Links into your marketed product. And to sell via new channels for marketing purposes, you will need to build internal tools to allow the marketing team to add the links. Similarly, Terminal involves using Stripe’s APIs, as well as SDKs. To implement Terminal into your point-of-sale application, Stripe offers a server-driven integration (US only) or a platform-specific SDK using Android, iOS, or JavaScript.
